Robin Schlochtermeier is a composer for an award-winning broadcast documentary and several award-nominated and award-winning drama short films based in Bristol, UK. His broadcast credits include Channel FIVE (UK), National Geographic and Arte.

Robin Schlochtermeier is an award-nominated composer for film, promos and TV based in Bristol, UK.

His scores include the award-winning documentary "Revealed: The Virgin Queen's Fatal Affair" (Channel Five, UK) and a Berlin film festival award-nominated Horror Short, "Mother's Little Helper" by Michael Lavelle, as well as numerous fiction and documentary shorts and a further FIVE UK TV documentary. Several of his short film scores have been nominated for best score or best sound at festival awards.

Early in 2011, Robin graduated to an MA with distinction in Composition for Film and Television from the University of Bristol. His studies also include counterpoint and harmony with award-winning games composer Leon Willett, conducting with William Goodchild and a Film Scoring programme at Berklee School of Music.

Robin enjoys ongoing collaborative relationships with a handful of very talented young filmmakers including Will McGregor, director of the acclaimed and multiple-award winning "Who's Afraid of the Watersprite?" and in-house director at The Mill production house in London, and fellow Bristol film student George Purves.

As an assistant to wildlife and documentary composer David Poore, he has worked on prestigious blue chip BBC production "The Truth About Lions" and the Playhouse Disney-commissioned "Mr. Moon" kids series.

Robin has also been sought out as a musical consultant for a music theory feature on the BBC One Show and Friend Request Pending, a short film by Chris Foggin starring Dame Judi Dench.

Originally a violinist and later a rock guitarist and singer, Robin is equally comfortable in pop styles as in classic symphonic scoring. His ear for orchestration has even led him to orchestral production work on seven tracks of an upcoming fusion album for Bristol drum and bass legend Roni Size.

When not working in his beloved studio, Robin can often be found in open green spaces gaining inspiration from trees, the earth and all the beautiful creatures on it.
